[10/18 – Report] YIRA Hiking & BBQ

On October 18, 20 YIRA members, staff and others, embarked on a truly memorable hike around the Mt. Nadera. We saw the beautiful vistas of surrounding mountains, city of Yonezawa at the bird eye’s view, and enjoyed the nature in autumn. Along the way, we chatted and laughed, learning about each other deepening the connections between our members from all around the world.

This is how we proceeded:

– We assembled at Yonezawa City Atago Community Center and set out

– Bypassing ancient temples and historical landmarks, we entered the mountains and eventually arrived to the Atago Shrine

– From there, we walked in even more narrower and winding trails, and eventually arrived to the mountain top

-Along the way, we chatted and joked, and took pauses to admire the view and take memorable photos

– Naturally, no trip is complete without a delicious meal, and we stopped by the by the mountain cottage at the Atago for the BBQ, filling the room with laughter and many a conversation.

But above all, we enjoyed spending time together the most. Whether it was chatting while hiking side-by-side, encouraging each during rest, or sharing a meal, we hope everyone had the chance to make new friends and feel a little more connected — not only to each other, but also to Yonezawa.
